RonZak's Music Log

Heyo, welcome to my music log! Now, this isn't my dream log; that's a different page entirely. This is for me to talk about my own music, either released or not, and maybe talk about other music.

Second Akzron Album; Talking About The Dimension Log; Equip; and Discussing the Living City

A couple of days ago, I released the second Akzron album, "Trapped in a Tumultuous World". It's a breakbeat/breakcore album with hauntology elements, and I'm really proud of it. It's loud, abrasive, chaotic, and horrifying, and I love it. Check it out if you want.

  • Trapped in a Tumultuous World
  • Also, The Dimension Log has been getting a lot of traction, and I'm really proud of that project. I love worldbuilding and storytelling, and the fact that people are not just enjoying the music, but also the stories and explanations I write for each album and world really means a lot to me. Check out the Dimension Log if you want.

  • The Dimension Log's Bandcamp Page
  • Also, while writing this, I was listening to Synthetic Core 88 by Equip. Equip is a godly composer. He's one of the inspirations behind Glitch Surfing, and an eventual album, The Living City. I actually own Synthetic Core 88 on CD. It sounds great. The album is my favorite by Equip that I've listened to so far. Yes, I have listened to I Dreamed of a Palace in the Sky. That one is also fantastic. The 90's RPG aesthetic merged with the Vaporwave aesthetic is amazing. Please, give Equip some love.

Also, I'd love to get The Living City done sometime next year. There's no way in hell that we're getting it done this year. Wilbur and I are still working out the story, and I still need to get more songs done. Besides, we have more projects we need to get done.

What the Living City is about is a group of video game developers known as Code Alcronic end up in the world they were trying to make. They find themselves in Mlademeko, or the "living city", a worldwide city ecosystem. (Fun Fact: Mlademeko is the same city Меркурий Хейзел Co. takes place.) There is a parasitic race wreaking havoc on Mlademeko, so the devs have to help stop them to save the Living City. That's our concept for the album.

That's all for now. Take care of yourselves, y'all!

Second Sputnik Collective Album, Monsters and Other I Remember 2006 Related Content, Recent RonZak Content, New Dimension Log Album, and Other Upcoming Projects

Another entry in this blog was a long time coming. So, while I struggle from getting over a flu, whilst procrastinating getting the fifth story done for Dimension Hoppers, all while I listen to Nebulous Dreams as I suffer from downing an energy drink like the nincomshit I am, let's talk about some projects. I have a lot of points to cover.

    Second Sputnik Collective Album

Let's talk about the first topic; Sputnik Collective. For those who don't know about this project, it's a project that Wilbur and I make together. I am known to make fictional video game soundtracks. Hell, the album I'm listening to right now is a fictional video game soundtrack I made. When we concieved Sputnik Collective, I wanted to do something different. I was getting into Swans at the time, and while I had yet tackled listening to Soundtracks for the Blind, I knew of its concept, of how it was a fictional movie soundtrack. So, instead of the norm for me, we decided that Sputnik Collective would be a strange collective of musicians (even though it's just us two) that make (fictional) movie soundtracks. Our first album under that moniker would end up being Astral Exploration. That definitely doesn't confuse us when we have an I Remember 2006 album called Astral Paralysis. Anyway, the concept of that album is a trio of friends go on a space voyage on a space craft known as the Halcyon.

Now, Will and I really like science fiction stories. It's the forefront of storytelling in Rexton-Garnet Reels, and I Remember 2006 at this rate. We'll get back to IR06. I wanted to do something different, however, for the second Sputnik Collective. I didn't want it to be another science fiction album. I wanted something more down to earth, pun intended. So, we thought of the concept of the soundtrack about an unknown person reminiscing their past. There's no villain, there's no crazy situation. It's just a trip down some unfamiliar memory lane. And in my opinion, not only is it one of our best albums Will and I have made together, it is the most calming album we've made together. There's not much drumming on this album, instead relying more on guitars. It was made to be a calming album. There is this leitmotif that goes throughout the album, making the album flow really well. It's like a core memory that pushes the protagonist to keep going. The album's name is Faded Suns/Dying Moons, by the way. I should have said that earlier. You can hear it here.

  • Faded Suns/Dying Moons
  • This album is short, just under 44 minutes. Sputnik Collective album aren't really long ones so far. This album also has a special cover. While the first one just had an AI generated image, this album actually has a rare painting cover that I crafted. It even has the official Sputnik Collective logo! I'm really proud of the painting. You can see it below.

Monsters and Other I Remember 2006 Related Content

Monsters ended up being the last album Wilbur and I made and released for 2022. It was made as a goal to reach 100 original I Remember 2006 songs in a whole year with us two, since he joined IR06 back in late 2021. We succeeded, but it caused a bit of burnout for me in the end. We will not be doing something like that again. Despite all this, Monsters ended up being a success for us in my opinion. There are two songs on it, however, that are solo songs of mine. One came from an abandoned project, (Agreement), and the other came from me wanting to have a quieter, more hopeful closer for such a bleak and disturbing album, (Benches in the City). The main theme of the album is humans being portrayed as monsters. We were heavily inspired by Crywank, Electric President, American Football, and Duster during the making of this album. You can see the first two bands' influences on my writing and performances ("If You Cared About Me, You Would Have Left A Long Time Ago", "Sculptures", "Lagan", "Monsters on the Other Side"). You can hear later two's influences on Wilbur in songs like "If You Cared About Me, You Would Have Left A Long Time Ago", "Sculptures", "Lagan", and "Forward:", as well as Ben Cooper (from Electric President/Radical Face) influence on "Sisters". There's still my own style here, in the lyrics of "Forward:", which is a continuation of "To Flotsam" from No Man's Land. Also, the song "Sisters", which was actually written, but I don't have the lyrics up yet. That was for another abandoned project that actually would have had "Your Cryptid" as well. And I was not into Ben Cooper's stuff yet. (It's also the only autobiographical song on the album.) Also, "Benches in the City" is the most pre-merge song on the album, which makes sense. It was one of two solo tracks. And "Agreement" is unlike anything I've ever made. It was actually inspired by luca_under_limit, and his album Subconscious Monologue, which I was somewhat of a helper for him, for I helped gave him ideas and motivation. (Hi, Luca!) This album also has our oldest recordings as an I Remember 2006 duo. Those tracks are "Never Name Your Demons" and "Finding Hope". Demons was our first ever song we recorded. We even has a third person on it! Our mutual friend, Chase, who also was a part of the first Rexton-Garnet Reels album! The album cover also is a corrupted version of an image I took at the Pier Marquette lighthouse years ago. Anyway, you can listen to the album here.

  • Monsters
  • Anyway, we are in the process of another I Remember 2006 album. It doesn't have a name yet, but is about the dreams we have at night. Recently, my dreams have been getting very dark. Like being at the bottom of the ocean, being in a nightmare version of a highschool, trapped in a space craft as it gets invaded, or watching a family's house burn down, whilst the father tries saving everyone inside. I don't know what's causing my dreams to get darker. I also know that last week I had another false awakening at some point. And Will sometimes gets messed up dreams as well. Inspired by Electric President's "Sleep Well" album, because of the lyrical concept, this next album will be about the dreams I just mentioned, and then some, of course.

    Recent RonZak Content

There were nine RonZak albums released in 2022, which is more than I thought I did, and I started off with my most successful one. Nebulous Dreams, The Mafia of Haven Antrim, The Long Lost Thought Incorporation, The Dark Times Regional Tournament, The Terraformer, Scortalo in the 316th Dimension (Volume One), Solitary Breakthrough, Lovely Enceladus and Titan Oasis Neghborhood Markets and Homes Extravaganza, and Blizzard of 2022. The Stargazing label actually found me by the Terraformer album. 2022 was a very busy year for me. I was focusing on a lot of side projects and monikers. Inspiration for RonZak started slowing down and became sporatic. Despite all that, I've made some of the best albums in my career. Nebulous Dreams, Terraformer, Dark Times Regional Tournament, the Scortalo soundtrack, and Lovely Enceladus and Titan. And that's just counting for the RonZak albums. That's not including the monikers.

Now, 2023 is near the end of its first month. I've released three albums thus far for this year. One RonZak album, one Sputnik Collective album, and one Dimension Log album. That one RonZak album spent years in the vault. It was supposed to be a collection of soundscapes, but not entirely sure I succeeded all the way. It's called "old soundscapes", and I remember it being inspired by Califone's "All My Friends are Funeral Singers", specifically the movie. The band did a live soundtrack for Tim Rutili's movie. Basically, they made the soundtrack whilst the cameras were rolling. That was my inspiration for this album. Standouts include 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 18, 24, and 29. This album has the rarest recordings of me playing trumpet in any of my music. The album cover is a highly edited version of an image I took before daybreak one day. You can listen to this strange album here.

  • old soundscapes
  • So, what's after this? There is a sequel planned for the previously mentioned album. It's where the Faded Suns/Dying Moons leitmotif originates. The Living City is still in the working. Truly my developmental hell album, which is so ironic. I hope to start that Terraformer sequel album soon. There's also that road trip themed album I need to finish.

    New Dimension Log Album

The new TDL album proved difficult for me to make. I wanted something more horror themed. What I got in the end is... actually really good, but I wish I was able to push it further. I used records in my collection to create the song, even including one that I had made for me for that has old songs I made. Sadly, only one copy exists. You can hear the album here.

  • Holdguard Hotel
  • What's next for this project? Well, about ten more albums are planned right now, but only a few are in consideration of being next. One I want to make as a field recording album. I think that would be really fun to do. I'm not sure if that will be the next one, though.

    Other Upcoming Projects

And, finally, the last point to touch. How about other projects, like Toxins of Solitude, or Меркурий Хейзел Co.? Well, first, I have to say that I really need to release that one finished Valakari Starcrawler album. It's just that I need an album cover, and the Starcrawler design is still a work-in-progress.

There's actually almost enough content to finish up Toxins of Solitude, but I don't know how much is usable yet. I would love to be done with that moniker by 2025, which is, coincidentally, the tenth year I Remember 2006 will exist, hopefully.

I have enough material to hopefully make a new Меркурий Хейзел Co. album. I'm not sure of its concept yet, even if it will have a concept. I would like to get one made before April comes around. I should probably start working on it soon. Меркурий Хейзел Co. is unironically one of my favorite monikers of mine, behind Akzron, Sputnik Collective, and Rexton-Garnet Reels. Of course, RonZak comes first, but that's my main moniker. Also, fun fact: every Меркурий Хейзел Co. album cover has been fully original, The first album cover took so long for me to make. Pixel art is bitch to do. The second album cover is just a blurry image of a program I have on both my old laptop, and this laptop. I wish to keep up this trend.

Threshold Lost has been rebooted from me losing the first album. The new first album has everything recorded. I just have to do production work on it and make the cover. Threshold Lost is acting like the first side moniker for I Remember 2006. It'll probably be released before anything else on this list. Maybe Valakari will release first, I'm not sure. The concept of Threshold Lost is about watching towns, cities, villages, etc., fall apart. Think Battle of Rexton-Garnet/Rexton-Garnet Reels, and The Mafia of Haven Antrim.

There is a fifth Rexton-Garnet Reels album on its way. I have to finish production work and album cover work. It's also going to have an interest release style to it. Look forward to that. We really had fun making that one. It was such a ride to create it. It advances the R-GR plot so much, too.

And the last thing I will talk about is a mysterious moniker that I don't have a name for yet. It's an 8-bit Gameboy musical moniker set in the Glitch Surfing universe. Like Akzron, Valakari Starcrawler, Rexton-Garnet Reels, The Dimension Log, and Toxins of Solitude, it has a character as the creator. This character isn't as important to the music as Akzron, Valakari, and Thomas Sanova (ToS) are to their respective moniker, but I still want him to be important in their own way. I'm thinking of writing mockuinterviews for this character. It would be fun to write mockuinterviews for the other moniker characters of mine. All I have planned out for this character character-wise, is that they are a Glitchrean video game soundtracker, and that they end up making the soundtrack to a game that Scortalo really likes. No, the moniker character is not Scortalo, though I have made jokes about if Scortalo was in a band. It would be a rock band. It would definitely be a rock band.

    Closing

Alright, that's enough from me. Go home, and sleep well.

A Catalogue of the Last Seven Months

No, I am not dead. I've just been really busy and have been, for reasons unknown to myself, avoiding working on this website as a whole, not just this page. Also, there was a lot of family fallouts that happens throughout July and August. I also hit an episode of depression around July 4th. I started dissociating at a party during the late hours and tried escaping through music by Bo Burnham. People were asking me if I was alright, and I only replied that I was fine. I wasn't. I really wasn't. The depressive episode lasted about a week. It wasn't fun, but I fought through it.

Throughout this seven month period, I had released a lot of projects. Many solo and collaborative projects, including one with a third member. This is going to be the longest entry in this log so far because I'm going through over a half a year's worth of material, and a lot has been released. First, let's go over solo work, because that will probably be the easiest to get through.

    Inter-Dimensional B-Sides and new soundscapes

A long time ago, I used to Soundcloud to release singles for upcoming albums I was working on. I stopped because of low space on my account. I've stated before that I had lost the original iteration of Inter-Dimensional Portal because of the death of a very old laptop, but three songs had survived via being put on Soundcloud as "singles". There were only on Soundcloud for several years before I finally put it up on Bandcamp, with the original album cover, too! (Which I still prefer over the official one, but 'tis what 'tis...) I released this E.P. on April 19th, 2023. You can check out the three-track B-Side E.P. here.

  • Inter-Dimensional Portal B-Sides
  • Released the same day as the Inter-Dimensional Portal B-Sides was the sequel to old soundscapes, aptly titled new soundscapes. This album is around twice the length as the original, at around an hour and forty minutes long. It has a smaller tracklist and longer tracks in general. The atmosphere of this album is way darker than the original. Some of these tracks were used in a student film that hell if I know where it went. This album also bring the soundscape count to fifty. That was the plan. You can check out the album here.

  • new soundscapes
  • The New Dimension Log Albums

I was able to get two TDL albums during this span of time: Dimension 27939: Terydgia Forest and Dimension 99999: (_). Terydgia Forest has a concept about a repeat forest that makes you relive moments from your past. It's concept has roots into two things. A project that Casper (the co-creater of Dimension Hoppers) and I tried to do years ago about a forest that makes you relive events. The other project was of an abandoned ARG concept that my bandmate, Wilbur, had, about a never-ending forest. It was inspired by TheSunVanished and The Backrooms. I tried helping him out with footage, but the project fell through. We have a different ARG project in the works that deals with weather. This album was the "field recordings album" I was talking about in the last entry I di on this page.

Dimension 99999 is very important to the Dimension Log/Dimension Hoppers lore. It's a decimated dimension. You can't see anything in it, yet there are things there. A main villain in the Dimension Hoppers novel caused this. I had help with lore and worldbuilding by someone who now goes by violetsands. This album is a dark ambient album made up of 10+ minute-long drone tracks of me playing an electric guitar, slowed and paulstretched to produce its nightmarish, Eldritch soundscape.

You can listen to both albums here.

  • Dimension 27939: Terydgia Forest
  • Dimension 99999: (_)
  • I'm not sure which Dimension Log album that I'll be working on next. All I know is I want to steer away from this horror aspect that the last three have been following. I need something more positive, more energetic (maybe.) I don't know what I want to go for next. Do I want to try to take the next one in a post-rock style? Do I want another vaporwave one? Do I want to sit down and compose a synthwave/synth-rock one? I don't know yet. Wilbur also has talked to me about collaborating on a Dimension Log album. Like a collab album. I have a few ideas of what album could be next, but I still have yet to decide what I want to go for.

The New Меркурий Хейзел Co. Album

After like a year I was finally able to finish the third Меркурий Хейзел Co. album. Titled Избегание дня, or Avoidance of the Day, this twelve-track album acts as the bridge to the next official RonZak album! I had a lot of fun making this one, actually. It also acts as a Mini-ARG, too, giving nods to the next solo-release I'm going to put out called The Living City. (More on that one later.) Each of the twelve tracks has a paasage in Russian/English, as well as an encoded message in the "lyrics" that gives hints to the story of the Living City. There's also another Mercury Hazel Co. album planned that acts as the "opposite" of this one. Consider this a duology: The Day and Night Duology. Or you can consider this the "Mlademeko Trilogy" if you include The Living City, since the other album is supposed to release after The Living City. You can listen to the third MHC album here. (Yes, I finally gave Меркурий Хейзел Co. it's own page.)

  • Избегание дня
  • Upcoming Solo Projects

As I have mentioned before, I've been working on an album called The Living City for a few years now. I'm happy to say that I'm nearing it's completion. I have seven tracks to make left out of a thirty track album. I sadly couldn't use all of the ideas we've had. (I've been working on the music aspect by myself, but the story, lore, and characters were made by Wilbur and I.) I also plan on trying to host a listening party when I'm done with the album. I've never done that on Bandcamp before, but I want to try it on this one. I don't know when I'm going to get this album done, but I'd like to get it done this month. That would be awesome. I can then start working on the next Меркурий Хейзел Co. album. That would should be pretty easy. I already have all the material I need to start working on it.

There's a few other RonZak albums I also want to make. One of them is supposed to be a synthwave/vaporwave album that I've barely worked on but I am already proud of the two songs I've made so far for it. Also, there's other vaporwave albums I'd like to make under the RonZak moniker. I aso need to continue the Terraformer sequel about Venus. That might end up coming after The Living City, but who knows what will really happen.

I don't know what happened to Valakari Starcrawler. I mentioned it in the previous entry back in January as an upcoming project. I think I may have lost all the files. Unless it's still on my old laptop, I think I'm going to have to restart it, but that's fine. This project, music wise, shouldn't be hard to get back to where I was.

Threshold Lost, I really back it up so I don't lose it yet again. I have a full album's worth of material, but I need to put it up, or at least archive it so I don't lose it. I think this version of the album is called Zarembrook, instead of the original one being Navins. It's still hold the Threshold Lost concept of it being about a deteriorating town/city.

I'm also nearing the end of the second Dimension 56 album. I don't know how many more tracks it needs, but I feel like I'm getting there. There's actually a song on this album that you can hear me break down sobbing. I really love where this album isw going. It also has vsome of the oldest recordings I've done that were never used for I Remember 2006. I've repurposed them as if they were songs that the character Ventuni made. Look forward to that, I guess

I haven't touched on that one 8-bit Gameboy Glitchrean Composer project in a while, but I'd like to get back to it soon. I've made some stuff with LSDJ that I am really proud of. (For the people who don't know what LSDJ means, it stands for Little Sound DJ. Many musicians, such as an old inspiration of mine, Chipzel, uses. It's a GameBoy music maker. I use it via an emulator, but I do actually own a GameBoy that should be able to support a physical copy of it. The problem, though, is it is known to crash a lot with the physical version, and you will lose data if you don't safe often.) I have no idea when this first album is done. I still don't know what I want to name this Glitchrean "Composer". I still don't have a full album's worth, but I'm getting there.

There's also a fictional band I'd like to make that's in the RonZakWolf Advanced lore. It would consist of the characters of Rafe "RonZak" LaNore, Marcel "Akzron" Vitriant, Zakorn, Vektrak, and Emmiline Walstrand. As I've stated before, Halley Labs is a big inspiration for me towards having a multitude of monikers. I had a Queenstons kick and it made me think of possibly doing this. I mean, both the RonZak and Akzron monikers have "collaborated" before, and in the RZWA lore, Rafe and Marcel are friends, though they didn't start off that way. What each "band member" as of now would play would be Rafe on Electric Guitar and Vocals, Marcel on Drums and Vocals (I mean, he makes breakcore, I think it fits), Zakorn on Bass Guitar and maybe Vocals, Vektrak on Electric Guitar and maybe Vocals as well (if I can get someone to do female vocals if I decide I need some), and Emmiline Walstrand on Keyboards. I could female vocals. I have the capability of doing so. I have a wide vocal range. I feel like it would sound a little off. I don't know. Now, for like a band name, I'm not sure. Almost all of the characters come from different dimensions. Maybe something like Otherworld Company? I don't know.

    Now onto collaborative work.

    A Case of Primordial Albums

Back in April, Wilbur Bullara, Brandon "Lil' Coop" Cooper, and I started a Progressive Rock/Metal, Math Blues Post-Rock/Metal band called A Case of Primordials. To quote the Bandcamp page, "A Case of Primordials is a three-piece band all about improvisation, long pieces, chaos, and the primordial state of the universe colliding with modern day." We released our first album on April 16th, 2023, titled "A Case of Primordials at the Edge of the Universe". It has five tracks, with one of them, "Somewhere Near Anchorage, AK" being forty-six minutes long.

As of today the second A Case of Primordials album has released. It's called As the Sky Opens. It's shorter than the first album we did, because we didn't have as much time. Still, we had a lot of fun with this album. Also, the image that used as the cover is credited to vitsinkevitch on Unsplash. Wilbur had used the image to make the cover, of which was inspired by Black Country, New Road's album, "For the first time". You can check out "As the Sky Opens" and "A Case of Primordials at the Edge of the Universe" here.

  • I Remember 2006 Era Eight

There was a lot of progress made with I Remember 2006 since the last entry. In fact, we're actually on Era Nine. I'll start off with Era Eight first. I'll try to go through this as fast as I can.

Subconscious in Silk was the first album of Era Eight. It's about various nightmares I've had that I've explained in my dream log (of which I also have to update the page of.) It's still one of my favorite IR06 albums we've made. Honestly, Era Eight was amazing. You can listen to it here.

  • Subconscious in Silk
  • An Alleyway to Your Nightmares is a behemoth. It is four hours long, with twenty-eight tracks. It's also very important to the IR06 lore, being the third entry in the "Drawn Covers Trilogy". It has probably our most melancholic closer to one of albums. I've actually cried to it before. Also, the making of this album was tumultous because the SD Card we were using had bricked as we were reaching the end of the album. I had lost so much material of solo and collaborative projects. We managed to recover most of this album because I hadn't yet close the Audacity project that we had recorded most of the album on. You can listen to it here.

  • An Alleyway to Your Nightmares
  • Six-Part Documented Breakdown is another beast. We adore this album, especially Wilbur. Six-Part was inspired by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's albums Made in Timeland and Laminated Denim. We actually lost the original version of this album, which was called Finest Hour. I never liked the name, and was even iffy to redo the album. But one day, I listened to the aforementioned albums in a row and inspiration struck. Essentially, Six-Part consists of six ten-minute tracks to make up a whole hour. And it is lore important. The album's name was inspired by Los Campesinos! with their Minor Documented Emotionl Breakdown series of tracks. You can listen to it here.

  • Six-Part Documented Breakdown
  • Degradation of the Beauty of Nature in One's Mind is a concept album about someone going through a depressive episode. It was inspired by a depressive episode I had (but it's not about that episode, except for one song. The album is fictional except for Awake in the Thunderstorm.) It was also inspired by Black Country, New Road. You can listen to it here.

  • Degradation of the Beauty of Nature in One's Mind
  • Then the final album for Era Eight is Diamond Terracotta. This album acts as a direct sequel to our first album, Corundum Red. Once enemies, Rainer Varim (The Arsonist) and Madison Zasterna (The Graviteer) must work together to stop an extra-terrestrial threat attacking the town. You can listen to it here.

  • Diamond Terracotta
  • I Remember 2006 Era Nine

This is the current IR06 era we're in. The first album is Vagabond Letters. This album stripped back the instumentation of Diamond Terracotta, and was more Folk Rock in nature. It also has our longest song ever. Ballad of the Vagabond. An hour and twenty-minute long epic about an unknown vagabond stopping an evil King from invading different countries. This album also has the first music video I've made for IR06 for the song "Fog Makes the World Look Otherworldly". I am really proud of this album. It has some of our best tracks. You can listen to it here.

  • Vagabond Letters
  • Terminal of Dimensions was made as a sonic opposition to Vagabond Letters. While Vagabond Letters is mostly a Folk Rock album, with Space Rock and Prog Rock tendencies, Terminal of Dimensions is a Progressive Metal album. It continues the IR06 lore, and has our hardest IR06 songs to date. It was a really fun one to make. It also has a thirty-two minute long instrumental closer. There are also two hidden tracks on this album. One of them is in the closer. You can listen to it here.

  • Terminal of Dimensions
  • Aleatoric Volume Three was a nightmare to make. It is currently the only I Remember 2006 album in the post-merge era that is fully a solo effort. This was in developmental hell for five years. Lost in Time really fucked up my flow with many albums, and this was one of them that was affected, and hard. I was tired of holding onto this. 2019 - 2023. You can listen to it here

  • Aleatoric Volume Three
  • Spirits in the Celestial Plane is a special album. It is the official start of the "Painting Trilogy". For this trilogy, we are exploring a shoegaze and slowcore sound, inspired by bands like Beach House and Duster. It is also our shortest IR06 album we've made so far, at only forty-six minutes. A plan for each release in this trilogy to not go over 49 minutes. I want them to be short (for our terms.) You can listen to this album here.

  • Spirits in the Celestial Plane
  • Rexton-Garnet Reels Album Five

Rexton-Garnet Reels is nearing the end of its storyline, but I wouldn't say that we're retiring the moniker at all. We released Fly Like the Wind Until You Reach the End Again back in April. Album Five was an interesting beast because we made two versions of it. One album version and one single-track version. It was recorded in one take. You can listen to either version here.

We've released three Vrishika Closing albums since the last entry. Now, what's Vrishika Closing, you ask? It's a No Wave/Sludge Metal project inspired by old SWANS. (Think their first four albums.) We have a lot of fun with this project, and have many plans for it. It's our metal project, and we hold it dearly. You can check out all three albums here.

  • Lost Wreckage
  • Chalking Virosis
  • Decaying Into the Other Reality
  • Conversation, Adversary

Conversation, Adversary is our newest moniker. It is heavily inspired by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. So far we only have album under this moniker, called Secret Locations. It's about different roads in Muskegon, where we live. Every track is 22-23 minutes long, of which there are four of them, and they're all split into different movements. One of the tracks actually has my brother on it. I can't wait to another album under this moniker. I love this 90 minute album, and it als has became one of Wilbur's favorite albums, period. You can listen to it here.

  • Upcoming Collaborative Projects

The third Sputnik Collective is done musically, and backed up so we don't lose it. I still have to paint a cover for it. It's a fictional documentary soundtrack about a fictional location. Wilbur and I also have a new Vaporwave moniker in the early works called Insulas of Titan. We only have a few tracks done and we don't know when we'll finish that. And we also have a new Aileron Assembly album in the works. Knowing the nature of that project, it'll probably take months to finish, but even with just one song, we are already proud with it.

I'm also planning on us to work on some unfinished I Remember 2006 albums that date back to the Pre-Merge Era. One of them has been in developmental hell for six years! Those albums are "And the Dreamers" and "Welcome to the Underground District". And the Dreamers is about a dreamscape war. Welcome to the Underground District is about a riot in a fictional town called Grand Lake, where a district fell into the earth, yet people stayed there. I had the first "act" recorded of And the Dreamers, all with my young sounding voice. I remember later on I added to two of the tracks, including one that is good as is, "No Alarm". The others will either have things added to them, or rerecorded entirely. District only ever had one song recorded, "March of the Vagrants", which I still love, but something could be added to it. No word when we can get those done, but I plan for them to be both a part of Era Ten.

    Track Collaborations with luca_under_limit

I actually worked with a fellow C418 community member/musician to make a couple of tracks for their newest album. I made a remix of his song "Making Entertaining Videos Is Hard" and we did a collaboration track called "Inner Demon". I also helped him, with other folks, with scripting a video essay he was working on about the PS1 Aesthetic. Check out his newest album here!

  • Closing Statements

Anyway, that was a nightmare to write. This has taken me like five hours of my life. This is what happens when you don't keep up with the log, Rafe. All joking aside, for how much stress this year has given me, I'm still really proud of what my friends and I were able to make from February to September, and I am looking forward to what we will make in the future. Have a good one, everybody, and stay safe.
